South Dakota is facing a critical moment in the fight for reproductive rights in this post we will show you how you can help. Anti-abortion activists are doing everything they can to prevent the people of South Dakota from having a say on the matter. They are stalking our petition circulators, protesting our events, and trying to stop us from gathering the 60,000 signatures we need to put our constitutional amendment to restore Roe v. Wade on the ballot.
But despite these challenges, we won't be intimidated. The protections enshrined in Roe v. Wade are too important to let slip away. And we need your help to cross the finish line and restore those protections for the people of South Dakota.
If you're looking for ways to get involved in the fight for reproductive rights, here are a few key ways you can help right now:
CARRY A PETITION
One of the most effective ways to help is by carrying a petition. You can either request one to be sent to you, or you can come to one of our office hours to pick one up. The anti-choice protesters can't follow us all at the same time, so even if you can just get ten signatures from your immediate family and friends, it's a huge help.
RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS
If you can't circulate a petition, or you want to do more, help us grow our army of volunteer petitioners by referring family and friends to our volunteer sign-up page and events we're hosting around the state. The more volunteers we have, the better chance we have of reaching our goal of 60,000 signatures by June 30th, 2023.
RELATIONAL FUNDRAISE
You don't have to write a check to help. Simply share our ActBlue link with your like-minded family and friends via social media, text, and email. This type of relational fundraising can increase your contribution to our cause by 300%.
PHONE BANK
If you're not comfortable circulating a petition, but you're good on the phone, we have a digital phone banking program we're running to contact supporters about our petition. You can do it all from the comfort of your personal laptop at home.
PRACTICE CIVILITY
Remember to channel the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and keep your cool if anti-choice activists try to bully and intimidate you. We will win this fight by appealing to the hearts and minds of South Dakota voters.
